Very first SSB 2m activity in April 1988, from JN33HG ("Moulins de Paillas") in the South of France, 320m asl. The sea being a few kilometers away. In 1987-88, my call-sign was ON1KHN. The antenna was a TV antenna reuse...

Early 90's, my 17 el. F9FT in JO10WK. Below the antenna rotor, the 6m N/S directed dipole is standing.
Around 1993, the 17 el. has been upgraded to 2x9 el. F9FT.
IARU Region 1 VHF Contest of September 1993, at the top of a coalheap (160m asl) with 80W and a 9 el. F9FT. The best DX achieved was an EA close to 1000 km.
October 1995 during the IARU Region 1 UHF Contest at the top of the same coalheap as above. Very FB sunny weather (25°C) and very FB propagation too. We were lacking a CW keyer but we managed to work OM3RRC (KN09) with 25W and a 19 el. antenna on 432 MHz, just by whistling the CW notes in the microphone ;o)
ON4LAI, ON5NP, ON4CN and myself are on the picture.
March 1996, HF DX-pedition in Iceland & participation in the WPX Contest with ON6QR, ON1KSZ (now ON6TI), ON5OO, ON4LAI & ON7PC. We were active from Reykjavik as TF/ON6QR (TF3D in the contest) and as TF7/ON6QR from the Westmann Islands (IOTA EU-071).
A VHF Contest in 1997, still at the top of a coalheap, 154m asl ("Terril du Levant") close to the city of Mons. We used 2x17 el. F9FT. The man standing in front of the tent is Michel, ON6XN, unfortunately passed SK in 1998, at the age of 50.
July 1997, at the top of the famous "Mont Ventoux" (JN24PE) in South of France, at 1800m asl. I used 50W and a 9 el. F9FT on the roof of the car. From there, Belgium could easily be worked on 2m.
July 1997, same location as on the very first picture of this page, in JN33HG.
July 1997, at the top of "Montagne de Lure" (1824m asl) in JN24VC, South of France. Same radio setup as on the picture above.
Take-off to the West from the "Montagne de Lure". The "Mont Ventoux" can be seen  (around 80km away) on the right of the picture.
July 1999, a Kenwood TR-7010 (dating back to late 70's), a small power supply and a 50W amplifier from the French-Swiss border in JN36, at the top of the "Mont d'Or" (Department 25 - 1463m asl).
Same location as on the picture above. Still the "good old" 9 el. F9FT on the roof of the car.
A VHF Contest in the late 90's, inside the tent, at the top of a coalheap.
During a Contest late 90's, take-off to the North-East at the top of the "Sauwartan" coalheap.
A contest in 2001, activating 2m, 23cm & 3cm.
An early QSL-card model, dating back the 90's.
My portable contest setup up to 2002. Also used as such in the shack : quite easy, just unplug from the shack and set it in the car for a portable activity.
In a tent, again at the top of a coalheap, operating CW in 1997.
